Group Interview Information
In order to best select our camp staff, we use a two-interview process. The first interview is a group interview during which participants are asked to participate in discussions about camp and children, to work together, and TO TEACH SOMETHING TO THE INTERVIEW GROUP THAT YOU MIGHT TEACH TO CHILDREN. What you teach is up to you; but, it should be an activity you might teach at camp such as a song, game, craft or skill. During the interview, you will be asked to pretend that you are the counselor for a group of campers. Please come prepared to teach your chosen activity to a group of approximately 8 other applicants who will pretend to be campers. Plan to teach as if you were actually doing so during a regular camp day.
The group interview is an opportunity for us to meet you in a group setting, similar to our camp setting. Your group interview will last approximately two hours.
Below is our current schedule of group interviews. For applications submitted on line, we will send you an email confirming your group interview date and time. For applications mailed to us, we will send you a postcard confirming your group interview date and time.
The number of positions in camp and participants in each interview is limited, so submit your application as early as possible. If the interview that you select is already full, we will contact you regarding rescheduling. Information about a follow-up individual interview will be provided at the group interview.
Please remember that it is important to come to your group interview prepared to teach something to the group that you would TEACH TO CHILDREN IN CAMP. As mentioned above, what you teach at the interview is up to you, but it should be an activity we might do in camp such as a song, game, craft or skill. The only limitations to keep in mind are that our interviews are conducted inside, and the activity should not exceed five minutes in length.
