Being a summer camp counselor is an opportunity of a lifetime.

Camp counselors help children learn skills they will take with them no matter where they go or what they do. Skills like team building, getting along with others, self-confidence, feeling good about themselves, and of course, athletic skills. In the process, you will learn and grow, too.

Whatever your future career plans -- teacher, doctor, social worker or engineer -- a summer as a camp counselor will change your life, and the lives of the children who spend their summer with you.

• Our camp program operates from June 23 through August 22, 2008, and are preceded by a week of staff orientation, June 16-19.
  
  
• "On the job" hours vary depending on position, but most staff work approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. We also have staff meetings Tuesday evenings.

• Our campers and staff go home at the end of each day. Staff are responsible for arranging their own summer housing; camp housing is not available. But, if you live from Pasadena to Ventura, Malibu to Moorpark, West Los Angeles to Saugus, or anywhere in the San Fernando Valley, you are easily close enough to work with us.
  
  
• Although we do not automatically provide transportation for all of our staff, most staff members are part of our camper transportation program. Call us for more information.

• Salaries vary, depending upon position. The range for first year staff with no previous experience is generally between $3,275 - $3,500+ for the summer. Those with previous experience or filling area director positions may earn more.
